ITM was formed in 1999 as a result of a management buy-out of the Instrumentation, Testing and Monitoring Division of Boart Longyear UK - who have been in the UK market since 1987. ITM have carried forward and added to the team from Boart Longyear and remain the UK market leader for the supply and installation of Geotechnical and Structural Instrumentation

ITM's approach to business is relationship-orientated; we are a privately owned company, flexible and without corporate overheads and restraints. 

In 2002, ITM acquired Soil Instruments, a leading international manufacturer and supplier of geotechnical instrumentation. Both ITM and Soil Instruments continue to function as separate operating companies within the ITM-Soil Group.

ITM-Soil Ltd has recently purchased Interfels, the instrumentation division of Boart Longyear. The acquisition increases ITM-Soil’s geotechnical manufacturing and service base, bringing not only specialist products such as Argus monitoring software and the incremental extensometer INCREX, but also experienced employees and a new factory based in Bad Bentheim, Germany.
