KING'S CROSS UNDERGROUND STATION RE-DEVELOPMENT PHASE 1 |
|
| Client: Plowman
Craven Associates Overview: As part of the redevelopment of St Pancras station in readiness for its new role as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link terminus, ITM are monitoring both the historic Grade I Listed facade and the Kings Cross Thameslink Tunnel beneath it. Our work includes the installation of tape extensometer and survey points on the facade, electrolevels within the structure and electrolevel beams in the Thameslink tunnel. To protect the interface between the Thameslink and the adjacent LUL tunnel, we have installed a state-of-the-art fibre-optic link for data transfer from Railtrack to LUL property, ensuring no possibility of electrical interference. ITM have a special interest in this particular building, as it was designed by the great-uncle of the Group Managing Director, Jon Scott!
